There is absolutely no question in my mind or in that of any other poet or critic with whom I have discussed the book that it is a work of the legitimacy and validity contemplated by existing American law ⦠I would be unworthy of the tradition of this magazine ⦠if I did not speak for the right of this book to free circulation, and against this affront not only to Allen Ginsberg and his publishers but to the possibilities of art and poetry in America.
